Dear Blow the Trumpet,
As all true believers know God was in those planes comforting those passengers and crew...God was in the Twin Towers saving scores of lives we have no other way of being able to be alive than a miracle and comforting the families of the fallen...because God is Good and perhaps in time those non believers will comprehend His truth...for this I Pray.

Our Response
Dear Friend,
Thank you for visiting Blow the Trumpet and for your comment regarding our article, “Where Was God?” Although we respect your opinion, we do not concur with your assessment. We are absolutely convinced that there was NOTHING comforting about 911. Each of those flights was filled with disbelief and, for the most part, total despair. The last words from American Airlines flight 11 stewardess, Amy Sweeny, as she saw the strange sight of buildings all around her plane were, “Oh my God!” Believe us, she was not comforted on that flight. She was terrified. Similar scenes played out on each of the three remaining highjacked planes. Confusion and despair were everywhere. Additionally, the despicable men who carried out this atrocity were terrorists and terror is exactly what they inflicted on their victims. There isn’t a hint that God was anywhere near those planes—even though their passengers may have been crying out to Him.
Furthermore, when scores of people were forced by the heat and smoke to jump out of the twin towers there was no comforting by a loving God. This is because our nation has kicked Him out of its national landscape. America has bent over backwards to remove the great moral laws this nation was built on and replace them with judgements that condone the killing of the unborn, the promoting of sexual promiscuity, and the embracing of sodomy as a legitimate lifestyle. These sins are abhorrent to the God of the Bible and are soundly condemned in the scriptures.
People can be philosophical all they want concerning how God’s presence was with our nation as it suffered the horrific devastation on 911. But the grim truth is quite simple. The GREAT God of Heaven rejected America’s cry that awful day. He did so because America first rejected Him. Here is what He says about our nation’s arrogance and how it will be addressed by His righteous judgment.
When your fear comes as desolation and your destruction comes as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish comes upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. But whoso hearkens unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil. (Pro. 1:27-33)
We don’t have to believe these words for them to be true. And if we don’t genuinely repent and turn back to the TRUE God, then there will just be more of the same. In other words, this once great country hasn’t seen the end of terror. Sadly it appears that we will continue to thumb our nose at the true source of our blessings and protection, and as a result, witness firsthand what it will be like without Him when calamity strikes.
Respectfully,
