David C.Pack vs A Sabbath Test

Timeline of Events

The Email that appears below was written by Dennis Fischer in response to RCG's claim that he falsely attributed their article condemning A Sabbath Test to Dave Pack when he knew Mr. Pack didn't write it. Mr. Dennis Fischer sends this Email to Mr. Pack explaining that he genuinely understood the RCG article Re: Dining Out on the Sabbath to have been written by Mr. Pack with the help of others. Mr. Fischer also reflects on the harshness of Mr. Packs words in his Email.

"About Your Disclaimer"

July 10, 2005

Dear Mr. Pack and Mr. Rogers,

I have just read the disclaimer you recently added to your article on restaurants. In it you claim that the authors of A Sabbath Test sent you a private email confessing they knew your article was not written by Mr. Pack. I spoke with Mr. Art Braidic and he assured me he has not sent any correspondence to you concerning this matter.

Furthermore, nothing I have sent you remotely intimated such a thing. To suggest otherwise is just not true. Dave, when I received your Email, I sincerely thought that you were just being charitable toward your staff when you stated others were involved in writing it with you. But I did accept that. However, there was nothing in your Email that suggested to me you had nothing to do with it. Then after comparing the tone of your Email and the article itself, I was convinced you had written almost all of it. I couldn’t believe there were two people on earth, let alone in the same COG group, that could be so aggressive and angry. Dave, I am not kidding when I tell you that I was stunned by what you wrote. When I was first asked about it by others, I was at a loss for an answer. The only thing I could think of to say was that it was cruel. I didn’t even want to believe it was written, let alone written by you. Dave, think about this: these were the first words you uttered (albeit in print) to me since the feast in Flagstaff. Frankly, there were so many other ways to have made your point.

With that said Blow the Trumpet has responded to your disclaimer in an article entitled The $10,000 Challenge. Once you read this, I am sure you will want to consider pulling your article or at the very least editing it AGAIN. My point here is that you should be far more considerate of your journalistic responsibilities.

As a matter of courtesy, I will continue advising you of any articles produced by Blow the Trumpet pertaining to this matter. I do this because I would want the same done to me.

Respectfully,

Dennis Fischer.
