Today, many Americans are of the belief that the framers of the constitution saw faith in God as a potential threat to the freedoms that once define so much of this nation. But is that really the case? Furthermore, has this understanding always been as prominent as it is today? Those who hold to the idea that government and God must never share the same moral voice would be well advised to look at the words that touch the pages of the constitutions of all fifty states – every one of which acknowledges the presence of a divine God.
